    Regional operating context - Sub Saharan Africa (SSA): 


    By 2050 the population of Sub Saharan Africa will be 2 billion people, with the majority living in an urban environment. The region is predicted to have a middle class the size of Europe. 70% of the population is under the age of 25, and this demographic will grow at 15% year on year for the next 10 years. Generally the region is becoming more politically stable. There are on average 50 elections each year, many of which are more open and transparent than before. The majority of countries in SSA are developing economies. Gender inequality remains and life for women and girls on the continent remains challenging. 


    The Role:

    The British Council is looking to hire 2 Exams Officers in our Lagos Office who will support Examination Services in Nigeria in delivering exams and tests and to maintain them at the highest professional standards as set out in the British Council's EQCA (Examination Quality & Compliance Standards), examinations boards and partner standards.

     

    The Opportunity:

     

    The Exams Officer is expected:

    To support delivery of all examinations administered from the Lagos office.To ensure that assigned tests are delivered in a timely mannerTo be ensure administrative procedures are in full compliance with examination boards, partners and EQCA standards.

     

     Requirements:

     

    It will be important for you to bring substantial experience in the following:

    Providing and monitoring service within quality standards.Working quickly and accurately to tight deadlines.Handling and reporting payments from customers.Training and managing a team to deliver to quality standards.Arranging meetings with stakeholders.

    Police begins recruitment exercise 2018

    The Nigeria Police Force has announced its recruitment exercise for Constables.

    The Force disclosed that the recruitment will commence from today, Thursday, 29 November, 2018.

    Spokesperson of the Force, Jimoh Moshood, in a tweet wrote: “Police Recruitment Registration Exercise for constables begins today, 29th November, 2018.”

    The force also listed criteria for intended applicants to include: O’ Level certificate with at least five Credit passes including Mathematics and English Language in not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB.”

    A statement released by the Force also said applicants must apply online, have a functional email address and mobile phone number.

    SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES FOR DSSC 26 APTITUDE TEST

    Below are shortlisted candidates for DSSC 26 aptitude test scheduled to hold in 8 centres across the nation on 1 December 2018 at 0730 (7:30 am).Candidates are to check and proceed to the centres indicated, all centres of choice were upheld except where doubts exist in the filling of the forms.

    **3.  Candidates who applied for Abuja and Lagos should note that there are 2 centres each, hence they should endeavour to confirm which of the centres their names appear and proceed there.

    **4.  Only those on a centre’s list would be allowed into the centre for the test.

    *5.    Candidates are to come along to the Aptitude Test Centres with the following:

    a.  Parents/Guardian Consent Form.

    b.  Photocopies of Degree/HND certificate.

    c.  NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate (Compulsory. Serving Personnel to present letter from unit /ID card).

    d.  Writing materials (2B pencil, eraser, and sharpener only)

    6.  Mobile Phones and any other forms of communication devices are prohibited from the examination halls.
